Whether you are searching for standard software components to help you speeding up your own range-imaging application development or you are searching for someone to provide you a fully integrated software solution you are at the right place. Metrilus offers both:
- standard software packages for real-time 3-D range-imaging and
- customized research for complex tasks using Time-of-Flight cameras, Kinect / Xtion or similar sensors.
The past years we have built a powerful core technology, called metri[base]. All our software is based on this proven technology. Several customers in various business fields already rely on this technology and either build there own applications on top of it or consult Metrilus to develop customized applications for them.
Example applications built with metri[base]:
Multi-camera demo
This short demo shows how multiple Time-of-Flight cameras can be combined to acquire a complete 3-D scene in real-time. Using the system occlusions can be reduced to a minimum. It furthermore shows some applications like object tracking or collision detection, which both are processed in real-time on a standard computer. The system supports all major Time-of-Flight cameras and PrimeSense sensors like Kinect or XtionPro. Different sensors can also be combined and mixed.
Touchless Interaction
Touchless interaction with any device (e.g. a computer) using your finger. The demo implements finger tracking, pointing, clicking and evaluates the finger pointing direction. It is working with all Time-of-Flight cameras, Kinect and XtionPro.
Respiratory Motion Gating
In 2007 we were the first who introduced respiratory motion detection as an application for Time-of-Flight cameras.
Real-time Box Detection with 3-D Sensors
The video shows a small demo how to detect box dimensions live with real-time 3-D sensors. We used a Fotonic C-70 (note: a C-40 probably would perform much better due to a better field of view), a Mesa Swissranger 4000 and a XtionPro from Asus (PrimeSense technology). The ground truth dimensions are: 13,4 cm x 25,8 cm x 31 cm. Please note that due to the integration of MetriCam each sensor can use the the exact same algorithm. Therefore you can compare all the available sensors.
